Description of Program/descripciÓn de Programa
On the second Saturday of every month, over 100 registered families are served at our customer-choice shopping-style food pantry. In addition, we offer a clothing distribution of women’s and children’s clothing and household linens, as well as assistance with entitlement benefits. Those with emergency food needs are also able to access our emergency food pantry during the week via the reception desk.
El segundo sábado de cada mes, mas de 100 familias registradas se sirven a la Despensa del Alimento del compra-estilo de la cliente-opción. Además, ofrecemos una distribución de la ropa para mujeres y niños y linos de hogar, y también ofrecemos asistencia con los beneficios. - All new customers must live in one of the following zip codes/Los nuevos clientes deben vivir en uno de los códigos postales siguientes:
- 10001, 10002, 10003, 10009, 10010, 10011, 10012, 10013, 10014, 10016
- New customers must bring/Los clientes nuevos necesitan traer:

Nearly 1 in 5 Americans Report Inability to Afford Enough Food
Nearly one in five Americans struggled to afford enough food for themselves and their families in 2010, according to a new report released today by the Food Research and Action Center. The report also reveals the extent of this struggle through 2010 in every congressional district and 100 of the country’s largest metropolitan areas, providing a unique up-to-date examination of how millions of American households in every part of the country continue to face a struggle with hunger.

Xavier Mission Receives Agency Excellence Award
At its Annual Agency Conference on January 11th, the Food Bank for New York City honored Xavier Mission with the Agency Excellence Award, its premier award bestowed on a network food program. Xavier was chosen from among the 1,000+ members in the Food Bank network for the distinction.
