Special Masses or Services will continue to be planned and organized by various respective groups in the parish: e.g., Disabilities Mass by Abilities Xavier; World AIDS Day by Gay & Lesbian Group; Healing Masses by Xavier Company; Christmas Pageant by Family Faith; Mission Mass by Outreach Mission; etc.
Committees, ministries and parish groups will be responsible for collaborating with each other if there is overlap: e.g. RCIA with Easter to Pentecost Committee; Family Faith with Advent to Presentation Committee.
Member Responsibilities: Attend committee meetings and two gathering a year. Dates TBD by parish staff.
[Note: Planning for this gathering will be the responsibility of the Liturgical Ministry Committee. The day should provide an opportunity for all of the following: prayer, reflection, review and evaluation of liturgies since last gathering, creative sharing of new ideas, anything that may fall through the cracks.]
Membership on Committees will be based upon a parishioner’s desire and petition to be a part of a given committee. In consultation with staff, pastor will decide membership. Except for the parish staff who serves ex officio, all other members will serve for three years with a renewable option on a yearly basis for no more than two additional years. Members must leave a committee for one year before re-petitioning for the same or another committee. Except for staff members, parishioners may serve on only one major committee. Staff Members will serve as conveners for their respective committees.
Size of Committees: 1, 2 & 3 above: no more than 3 parishioners + staff member listed
4 above: no more than 5 parishioners + staff member listed
5 above: TBD by Luz and Peter as needs emerges
