RCIA

An Invitation

This program is a process whereby those interested in learning about the Catholic faith come together on Sundays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM after the 11:30 AM Mass in the West Room of the Parish Office, to learn about the scriptures and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, and at the same time, to discover where God is present in their lives.

The process is designed for those adults who are:

  • Unbaptized
  • Baptized in another tradition
  • Baptized Catholic, but with no further religious training or sacraments
  • Catholics who would like to learn more about their faith

RETURNING CATHOLICS

“Do you have questions? Are you unsure of where you are? Need to “re-form” your Catholicism? Want to share your questions?”

Call the office (212) 627-2100 to find out when the next introductory meeting is. The meeting will provide a chance for informal sharing and listening in a non-threatening environment.

Format is simple: a presentation and discussions…and no exams!

Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) invites women and men to baptism in the Catholic church, and all baptized Christians seeking confirmation and full communion as Catholics. There is a time of Inquiry and Catholic update that begins on Sunday, October 2, 2011, and lasts for ten weeks.  Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist will be celebrated at the Easter Vigil 2012. All sessions will take place in the West Room of the Parish Offices on Sundays from 1:00 pm to 3:00pm.
