Growing in Faith Together (G.I.F.T)
by means of
the Communal Apostolic Discernment methodology (C.A.D)
Communal Apostolic Discernment is a method of discernment based on Ignatian spirituality.
This method is a tool of discernment that can be applied by all according to specific needs. It provides an opportunity to share in-depth about a topic group, a prayer, a decision, a particular conflict.
This method is being used in parish staff meetings, meetings of catechists, pastoral council meetings, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) sessions, liturgical committee meetings. The last time was used in the reunion of ministerial leaders. The results of using this methodology have been successful.
The aim of GIFT is to inspire members of the community of the Church of St. Francis Xavier to implement this method of spiritual conversation in every ministry and between ministries.
If a ministry is interested in applying CAD in some of its meetings, contact Luz Marina Diaz lmdiaz@sfxavier.org or Sandy Mattingly Sandy.Mattingly@corcoran.com. They will provide a CAD facilitator who will contact the ministry for further details.
